There’s something about a long stretch of highway that makes you think back. Maybe it’s the hum of tires on asphalt, or the way the radio dial used to click from static to a song you hadn’t heard in years. That feeling is exactly what inspired The Long Highway  our brand-new morning show that rolls listeners through six decades of country music, one hour-marked stretch of road at a time.

What Is The Long Highway?

Every weekday morning, we’re pulling out of the driveway and heading down memory lane  five decades, five distinct sounds, one continuous drive. Each decade gets its own dedicated two-hour block, so you can settle in and really live inside the era, whether that’s the honky-tonks of the ’60s or the stadium anthems of the 2000s.

Why We Built It

Country music didn’t happen all at once it evolved, decade by decade, through honky-tonk bars, outlaw highways, dance halls, and stadium tours. Here at Rust and Roses, we wanted a show that didn’t just play “classic hits” at random, but actually took listeners through that evolution, in order, like flipping through the chapters of a family photo album.

Whether you grew up on Merle Haggard or came of age with Garth Brooks blasting through your truck speakers, there’s a mile marker on this highway built just for you.
